How to play The Machine

Buy a tray of balls, pick a lane, and fire. Payouts come back as balls.

Your objective

Find the centre gate, ride the run it opens, and cash the tray out ahead.

How a round works

1

1.Buy a tray

Coins buy balls at a fixed price. That is the only time coins leave your wallet — everything the machine pays lands in the tray as balls.

2

2.Pick a lane

The rail, the centre, or the climb. Each is a different published weight table, so the lane genuinely changes your odds — it is not a launch angle.

3

3.Fire

One ball at a time, or hold the trigger. Most pockets pay nothing; the ones that pay give you back whole balls.

4

4.Find the gate

The centre pocket pays 15 balls and opens the machine for twelve, during which the gate is eight times likelier. Finding it again resets the count.

5

5.Cash out

Balls convert back to coins at exactly the price you paid for them. The tray waits at the machine if you leave, so nothing is stranded.

Controls

LaneChoose which published odds table the next ball is drawn from.
FireSend one ball down the lit lane.
AutoKeep firing until the tray runs out or you stop.
Buy / Cash outMove coins into balls, and balls back into coins.

Rules to know

  • A ball costs a ball: payouts are whole balls, and balls cash out at the price you paid.
  • The pocket is drawn from your lane’s published weights; the pin path is then drawn to reach it, so the bounce is presentation and the weights are the game.
  • All three lanes return 95% over the long run — they differ in how often the gate comes up, not in what they pay back.
  • A drier lane funds a commoner gate: the climb returns nothing on about three balls in four, and reaches the gate more than twice as often as the rail.
  • The gate is resolved server-side before any ball is animated, and the open run is counted there too.

Useful tips

1The rail dribbles balls back steadily; the climb spends long dry stretches buying a much likelier gate. Pick the one whose shape of session you want.
2Nothing carries over between trays except the gate run in progress, so there is no reason to cash out early beyond wanting to stop.
3Fifty balls is nowhere near enough to see 95%. The session panel says so on purpose.
