Expected Value (EV)
The average outcome of a bet over the long run: win chance × payout. Below 100% means a net loss over time.
EV is what you'd earn per wager if you repeated it forever. A negative EV (the norm in any casino-style game) is the house edge. Short-term luck can swing wildly around it.
